IndiGo announces 16 Republic Day flights and 12 additional frequencies

IndiGo to change red-eye flights from Goa to leisure friendly schedule

IndiGo, has announced the launch of 28 new flights. This will include 16 Republic Day special flights which will operate between January 19 and January 26, 2023. The airline has also added 12 new flights and additional frequencies to its winter schedule, w.e.f., February 01, 2023. The additional flights will be introduced between regional destinations like Bengaluru-Ahmedabad, Chennai-Ahmedabad, Bengaluru-North Goa, Mumbai-Rajkot, Raipur-Mumbai, Kolkata-Guwahati, Guwahati-Agartala and Port Blair-Chennai.
In addition to these IndiGo will also launch a new flight between Chandigarh and North Goa and additional frequencies on the Kolkata-Bengaluru and Bengaluru-Cochin routes. The airline will resume operations on the Hyderabad - Chandigarh and Hyderabad – Srinagar sectors. These flights are being introduced to cater to the increasing demand and enhance air connectivity.
Speaking on the occasion, Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales, IndiGo said, “Air travel is seeing a resurgence in the country, with more and more passengers looking to fly. A large part of this demand is coming from regional centers and as India’s leading carrier, we are fulfilling this need by adding new routes, frequencies and restarting operations on some sectors. IndiGo recently touched the landmark of operating 1700 daily flights, and with these additions, we are expanding our operations even further and continue to provide affordable and hassle-free connectivity for our customers. ”
The addition of these new flights will enhance accessibility and provide more options to people travelling between the states from different regions . Increased accessibility between Guwahati (Assam) and Agartala (Tripura), will attract more tourists through scheduled commercial flights which will boost economy of the north-eastern states. Over the last few years, IndiGo has focused on increasing accessibility in the northeast and now connects seven out of eight states in the region.
