New areas for trekkers as villages around Kashmir LoC open up

The villages of Kashmir near Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Baramulla division was under a constant fear of shelling and attacks from across the border. The villages across the state opened up their arms to welcome the tourist and trekkers post -pandemic. India and Pakistan in February this year agreed to ceasefire along the LoC and all other sectors.

There are several places in the Baramulla district of Uri region which have immense potential for increasing tourism and attracting trekkers to stay in the authentic homestay like experience in villages like Baba Fareed, Kandi, Rustom Nambla, Copra Peak, Dudran and Dana Dudran which were severely affected by the borde dispute between India and Pakistan.
