In its dedicated effort to educate and empower trade members in Tier-II and III cities of Maharashtra and Central India, this year's edition for the first time has adopted the concept of going paperless. To facilitate this shift to the digital platform, the GPS app allows exchange and access to the database of exhibitors and buyers. In today’s scenario the tour operators and other stake holders connected with tour and travel trade are worried a lot. It is understood that due to imposing of the service tax the tourism industry is going to suffer a lot. Keeping this in view, GPS arranged knowledge sharing seminar by inviting the experts who could throw light on the burning issues relating to the industry. The various interesting topics were covered by the experts with wide ranging issues like Product presentations, Cyber Security, Travel Business, Art of Guerrilla Marketing and Redefining Travel Commerce.
Harmandeep Singh Anand, Co-founder, GPS and MD, Jagsons Travels, informed that 108 exhibitors showcased their varied products and offerings for the Tier II and Tier III markets and the event was attended by over 600 buyers. “If we see the multiplier effect, then approximately for 108 exhibitors and 1,000 buyers, 100,000 meetings can be done. This is a huge number. We have witnessed 99 per cent success in terms of exchange of e-cards.” The GPS mobile application launched for the 5th edition was a huge success; adding to the fact that the application is undergoing constant upgrade.
Talking at the inauguration, Harmandeep Singh Anand, Founder, GPS, said, "We are planning to up the ante of GPS by the next edition by allowing video conferencing option for meetings."
